Karim is a third year BBA student at the Schulich School of Business, currently serving as the Senior Member Development Advisor on YFC. Previously, he held the roles of VP Finance and Development Associate.
This upcoming summer, Karim will be completing an internship in the Investment Banking Division at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. During the summer of 2016, he worked as a Credit Risk Reporting Analyst at Tangerine Bank.
Karim attended École Secondaire Catholique Sainte-Famille, where he graduated with honours and won the Academic Excellence Award. Outside of Schulich, Karim is an avid watch enthusiast who enjoys cooking and running.
Mitchell Branov is a second year BBA student at the Schulich School of Business, currently serving as the Operations Associate on YFC. He is currently contributing to the consistent and growing success of Q1 Capital Partners as an Investment Banking Analyst Intern. During Mitchell’s past summer, he experienced working as a Business Analyst Intern at Scotiabank in the Global Wholesale, Wealth, and Risk Technology department.
Mitchell is actively involved in the finance community at Schulich School of Business via the York Finance Club as well as the York University Student Investment Fund (YUSIF) as an Equity Analyst.
Mitchell’s interest in finance originated in high school where he spearheaded the development of his school’s Finance Club. There, he devoted his efforts to improving financial literacy among his peers along with teaching intermediate trading skills through online simulations.
Mitchell is an avid reader, plays chess, and enjoys a multitude of sports.
Jessica is a second year BBA student and Marketing Advisor of YFC, having previously served as marketing associate. In addition, she holds an executive position as the Co-President of the York Marketing Association.
She spent this past summer working at a digital marketing company, In Social, and as an executive on EDGE: Diversity in Leadership.
Having previously attended Unionville High School in a specialized visual art program, Jessica demonstrates a keen interest in design and an eye for detail. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys art, design, digital painting, fashion, makeup, and photography.
Alex is a second year BBA student at the Schulich School of business, currently acting as the Finance Associate on YFC.
This past summer, Alex volunteered at the Zoran Djindjic Foundation that provides Serbian university students with reputable internships in Italy, Austria, and Germany. She also volunteered at Dunlace Park Tennis Club helping teach young children how to play tennis.
Prior to entering Schulich, Alex attended Havergal College where she graduated with distinction. During her time at Havergal, she was captain of her Mock Trials team and regularly acted in the school’s theatre productions.
In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering, watching comedies, playing volleyball, and traveling.
Abiram is a second year student at the Schulich School of Business, pursuing his Bachelor of Business Administration. He is currently the Vice-President of Development, specifically focused on the curation of the club’s Technical Series. Previously, he served as an Associate on YFC.
Furthermore, he is the Senior Analyst within the Natural Resources and Industrials group on YUSIF – York University’s $300,000 student investment fund.
This past summer, Abiram completed a 16-week internship at CIBC Mellon. Throughout his time at CIBC Mellon, he worked in the Investment Fund Services group where he assisted asset managers on their day-to-day investing activities.
He is an avid supporter of the Cleveland Cavaliers and enjoys discussing about hip-hop music, basketball, and chess.
Arun is a second year BBA student as the Schulich School of Business, currently serving as the Development Associate on YFC. Arun is the Research Analyst within the Yield sector for the York University Student Investment Fund (YUSIF).
This past summer, Arun volunteered as an events organizer for the Canadian Blood Services in his hometown of Brampton, Ontario. At Schulich, Arun hopes to continue exploring his interests in finance by involving himself in relevant case competitions and clubs.
Arun attended Turner Fenton Secondary School in Brampton, Ontario, where he co-founded the Financial Literacy & Investment Club. In addition, he competed on the soccer team as the Captain on a provincial level.
In his spare time, Arun enjoys playing soccer, skiing, and video gaming.
Hamzah is a second year BBA student at the Schulich School of Business, currently serving as Vice President of Finance on YFC. Hamzah was also recruited to join the York Lions Varsity Soccer Program prior to his post-secondary education and has remained a part of the team ever since.
Hamzah is currently working as a Junior Investment Banking Analyst at Valitas Capital Partners – a boutique corporate finance advisory firm, specializing in mergers and acquisitions for private Canadian companies . He spent this past summer interning at Keypath Education, a global business that provides online education services to various post-secondary institutions.
Hamzah attended Pickering H.S. where he was co-founder of the Investment Club and played provincial level soccer.
Jenny is in her first year of the iBBA program at the Schulich School of Business, currently serving as the marketing associate on YFC. In addition, she is the first-year representative on the York Marketing Association and a debate delegate on JDCC.
She spent her past summer in Beijing, China as an intern for Wiseway – a public relations and brand consulting firm.
Jenny attended St. Augustine Catholic High School in Markham, Ontario where she was an active member and representative of her student body during York Secondary Catholic President’s Meetings. She was also the chair of the Prime Leaders of York Region – a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for social issues.
Outside of Schulich, Jenny enjoys ballet, reading, and volunteer work. She is a registered volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross and has been recognized by the Canadian House of Commons for her exemplary efforts.
Mit is a first-year student at the Schulich School of Business, pursuing his Bachelor of Business Administration. He is currently serving as the Development Associate on the York Finance Club.
Prior to attending Schulich, Mit attended Castlebrooke Secondary School. Throughout his high school career, Mit was heavily involved in extra-curricular activities, ranging from academic clubs to sports teams such as cricket. Furthermore, he served as the President of Castlebrooke’s DECA Chapter and co-founded Castlebrooke’s Investment Club.
In his spare time, Mit enjoys sleeping, playing cricket, and giving back to his community.
Dishant is a first-year student at the Schulich School of Business, currently serving as an Operations Associate.
Prior to attending Schulich, Dishant attended York Memorial C.I where he successfully took part in the Advanced Placement (AP) program. He was also heavily involved in the school’s extra-curricular initiatives serving as the Vice-President of his school’s DECA Chapter and Treasurer of the Kiwanis Club. It was through these initiatives that Dishant discovered his interest in Finance and hopes to continue this interest by partaking in relevant events at Schulich.
In his spare time, Dishant enjoys playing badminton, binge-watching Netflix series and trying new food.
Ilan is a first year student at the Schulich School of Business and is currently serving as the Development Associate at YFC. This past summer he has worked at Breckles Insurance Brokers as an Administrative Assistant.
Prior to entering Schulich, he attended high school at St. Theresa of Lisieux, where he was given the International Business Award for finishing at the top of his class.
Aside from academics, Ilan enjoys playing basketball, video games, and maintains an avid interest in watching psychological thrillers.
Farhan Khan is a BBA student in his first year, currently serving as the marketing associate. He also serves as one of the sponsorship directors for Schulich Formal 2018.
Throughout high school, he showed a keen interest in creating change and following his passions. His tenure in high school included holding the positions of Grade 12 representative in Student Government, and marketing director for the local Model United Nations chapter. As the founder of the school-wide Mock Trial team which placed first among all the Toronto East entrants, his passion for law had not gone unsatisfied.
Outside of school, Farhan also enjoys making Spotify playlists filled with Jazz and Indie Pop in his free time, playing Ultimate Frisbee, keeping up with the latest consumer electronic trends, and watching Horror movies. He hopes to use his skills to help students find their passion and develop themselves as strong business leaders in the field of Finance.
Syed is a second year BBA student at the Schulich School of Business, currently serving as the VP of Operations on YFC. Syed was previously a marketing associate on YFC.
In his first year, Syed completed a business development internship at software development firm, Kaspian Innovations.
Syed attended J. Clarke Richardson in Ajax, Ontario. Syed is passionate about cars, soccer, technology and music.
Daniel is a first year BBA student at the Schulich School of Business currently serving as an Operations Associate on York Finance Club.
Outside of Schulich, Daniel opened his own handmade soap company named Bubblux and sells the products online and at several street markets. This past summer, Daniel participated in an exchange program to Iqaluit, Nunavut with the Jr. Economic Club of Canada and was a finalist in the business pitch competition.
Daniel attended Bishop Reding Catholic Secondary School where he took on strong roles in leadership clubs, Business Club and coached Junior Boys Hockey. Daniel enjoys hockey, basketball, cooking and stand up comedy.
Emily is a third year iBBA student at the Schulich School of Business, currently serving as the Senior Conference Advisor on YFC. Previously, she held the role of Conference Co-Chair on YFC and she was a member of the JDCC Finance Team.
This upcoming summer, Emily will be completing an internship as an Investment Banking Summer analyst at TD Securities. During the summer of 2016, she worked as a Valuations Analyst at Cohen Hamilton Steger & Co.
Emily attended De La Salle College ‘Oaklands’ High School where she graduated with honours and won the Community Involvement Award for her dedication to the school and her local neighbourhood. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering with local grass-roots charities, teaching piano to young children, and traveling.
Janat is a second year BBA student at the Schulich School of Business, currently serving as the Vice President of Corporate Relations. In addition, she is a member of the External Communications Committee on Schulich’s Undergraduate Business Society (UBS) and a peer mentor for LEAF.
Over this past summer, Janat worked as a Business Development Associate for SRL Corporation. In her role, she negotiated and closed inventory contacts while forming relationships with suppliers.
Janat previously attended St. Augustine Catholic High School in Markham, Ontario where was the Vice President of her schools founding Free the Children chapter. In her free time, she enjoys fitness, travelling, fashion, and supporting charitable causes.
Parsa is a second year BBA student at the Schulich School of Business, currently serving as the Vice President of Corporate Relations.
He spent this past summer working as a junior accountant for Sirati and Partners Ltd. During the summer he played for the provincial level U21 men’s soccer team. He also has a black belt in Judo and has played on the Ontario men’s Rugby team.
He is interested in pursuing a career in the capital markets or venture capital.
Parsa attended St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic High School in Richmond Hill, Ontario and graduated the top of his class in 2016. Parsa takes interest in cars, real estate, soccer and is a fan of Real Madrid C.F.
Nuzhat is a second-year BBA student at the Schulich School of Business, currently acting as the Junior Co-President on YFC. She previously served as the Operations Associate and spent this past summer as a Business Analyst for Red House Realty Brokerage.
Prior to entering Schulich, Nuzhat worked as a Project Manager for the largest charitable group at her high school, York Memorial Collegiate Institute. Here, she was able to raise funds for the Because I Am a Girl foundation and the Nepal Earthquake relief. Moreover, she acted as the Treasurer for her school’s first DECA Chapter.
Throughout her high school career, Nuzhat took various courses within the Advanced Placement program and earned the title of an AP scholar.
Alina Yao is in her third year at the Schulich School of Business and serves as the senior Co-President of the York Finance Club. Previously, she served as the Junior Co-President and Vice President of Corporate Relations.
For the summer of 2018, Alina will be completing an internship at CIBC Capital Markets within the Investment Banking Division. Previously, Alina worked at Nestlé Canada as a Financial Analyst, and York University’s President’s Office as an Assistant.
Outside of York, Alina is involved with Women in Capital Markets as a mentee in the Uniconnect Program, and mentor in the High School Buddy Program. She was previously involved on the York University Student Investment Fund (YUSIF).
Outside of academics, Alina enjoys fashion, music and sitcoms.
Silvio is a second year BBA student at the Schulich School of Business, currently serving as the Conference Associate on YFC.
Over the summer, he worked in sales at a HVAC company called Simply Smart and also volunteered at the Red Cross mobile food bank.
Silvio attended Brebeuf College School where he graduated with honors and successfully scored a 5 on the AP Calculus AB Exam in Grade 11.
In his spare time, he enjoys fitness/weigh-training, playing soccer, and making wine with his family.
Abilash is a first year BBA student at the Schulich School of Business, currently serving as a Conference Associate on YFC.
Previously, Abilash was one of the First Year Representatives on York DECA, a soft skills development organization based out of Schulich.
Prior to entering Schulich, Abilash attended Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School. Abilash’s interest in finance grew as he took on the role as Senior Treasurer of his Student Council as well as being an Executive on his school’s DECA Chapter.
Abilash takes interest in hiking, travelling, and politics.
Melissa is a second year iBBA student at the Schulich School of Business, intending to specialize in Finance and Economics. She currently serves as Co-Chair of YFC’s Undergraduate Finance Conference.
This past summer, Melissa completed an internship at Libro Credit Union, where she assisted the Customer Service and Wealth Management teams in growing financial prosperity for personal clients and businesses in Southwestern Ontario.
Previously, Melissa attended Catholic Central High School in London Ontario, where she served as the Athletics Representative on the school’s student council. At Catholic Central, Melissa was also the captain of the varsity soccer team and an executive of a student organization that raised funds to support research at the London Children’s Hospital.
Melissa has a strong passion for soccer, having played at the provincial level for a number of years. In her spare time, she also enjoys participating in various intramural sports, as well as experimenting with various healthy culinary creations.
Ted is in his third year of the International Bachelors of Business Administration program at the Schulich School of Business, specializing in finance and economics. He is currently one of the Conference Co-Chairs of YFC. Previously, he served as a Conference Associate in his second year.
This upcoming summer, Ted will be completing an internship as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst at TD Securities. Previously, Ted has worked as an Investment Banking Intern at Valitas Capital Partners – a boutique corporate finance advisory firm, specializing in Canadian private middle-market mergers and acquisitions.
Outside of Schulich and work experience, Ted also has a passion for athletics, particularly swimming, after having competed on a national-level for over nine years on esteemed Canadian and Greek swim clubs. Moreover, Ted has held several swim coach positions and acted as a mentor for many young swimmers.
